Stush in the Bush, a vegan dining experience in Jamaica. • Jamaica is well known for it’s delicious food which is colorful and flavorful. Jerk chicken, curried goat and Jamaican patties are amongst some of the favorites. With a melting pot of cultures living in and visiting, Jamaica also has many exciting cuisines and dining experiences available on island. • Jamaica also has many vegetarians and vegans. Ital is a popular Jamaica vegetarian diet intended to be healthy and energy boosting. The Jamaican Rastafari community in particular often adheres to a diet of non-animal and non-processed foods. Some more strict than others. A vegan diet is a plant-based diet that excludes all animal products, including meat, dairy, eggs, and honey. The reasons to follow a vegan diet can vary from health benefits to ethical concerns regarding animal welfare and environmental sustainability. It’s is important to plan a vegan diet carefully to ensure that all necessary nutrients are being absorbed. • Stush in the bush has taken this to the next level with their multi course dining vegan experience in Jamaica. • Way up in the Hills of Freehill, St.Ann, Jamaica, you will find Stush in the Bush, an Al Fresco(open air) Vegan Dining experience on the Farm. A breathtaking piece of land with a modest building which exposes both tourists and locals to vegan food with a twist, unlike any other dining experience in Jamaica! This is open by paid reservation only, walk ins aren’t possible so plan early if you don’t want to miss this experience while you are visiting Jamaica. The menu is a fusion of their world travels and local Jamaican. • The service is impeccable but is deliberately slowed down for the overall experience of learning, enjoying the food and good conversation. The owners, Christopher and Lisa Binns believe that luxury resides in simplicity and a connection to the earth. Engage your senses with the herbs, spices, fruits, birds, flowers of their functional property which produces much of the food as well as serves as a rustic location for this splendid multi course dining experience. Take in the breathtaking views of Jamaica’s north coast from several locations on property including the deck. • If you like what we are doing then please click on the bell below for the notifications and subscribe to our channel for weekly shows! • On the Stush in the Bush property, they grow vegetables from organic seed as well as buy locally produced fruits, vegetables and spices. They also make preserves, sauces, dressings and breads which you will see for sale at some local fairs, grocery stores and restaurants. • To live, you must eat. To live well, you must eat well. In their world that means organic, naturally grown, sustainable, fresh, seasonal and respecting the connection between food and life. Chris is the self proclaimed “bush” of the relationship and Lisa the “Stush”. They share a peak into their love story and love of food by reservation only which we have been lucky to experience. • As a very unadventurous eater, I found it extremely easy to enjoy this prix fixe menu as it’s 100% plant based. I figured, what is the worst than can happen? I am served a zucchini, I don’t like? With non vegetarian concepts you have to worry about all types of meat possibilities which is a nightmare for picky eaters such as myself6. • You can certainly choose what to skip but you do not order your desired choices. This set up works well for Stush in the Bush because chefs can pair the best items and also ensure adequate protein balance which is important in a vegetarian diet. The downside to a prix fixed menu is usually limited choices, however they have resolved this issue but offering an abundant amount of food. • If you like what we are doing then please click on the bell below for the notifications and subscribe to our channel for weekly shows! • The menu varies but always includes an Amuse Bouche, a Jamaican Mezze Board, Gourmet Greens, Sip(vegetarian Soup), Fresh Homemade Bread, NYC Style Pizza, Farmed Vegetable, Local Travel Inspiration dishes, Palat Cleanser and a sweet dessert. The menu is dependent on seasonality, what is growing on the farm, and what can be sourced locally. • Today we are having Crispy Plantain Chips, Cocoyam and sweet potato croqueetees, ChoCho Ceviche, Roasted Pumpkin Hummus, Gourmet Greens salad, Cilantro/Coconut/Lemongrass Sip, Bread Rolls, Fyah Grilled Pizza, Mulberry Gelato, and warm Beignets for dessert. • Innovative vegan ingredients such as nut based cheese, bacon made from smoked coconut and tangerine caviar make this a truly delectable and unique vegetarian meal. • Please book directly with them at www.stushinthebush.com • • #stushinthebush #vegan #jamaica
