Current treatment options for ALS

This video presents the therapeutics currently available for the treatment and management of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). It describes the pathophysiology of ALS as well as the progression of the disease. It examines the symptoms of ALS. It then discusses the two-pronged treatment approach that includes the prescription of pharmaceuticals that slow the progression of ALS, and the management of symptoms through various symptom-directed therapies.
