30 years after signing of The Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer, the “World’s most successful environmental treaty”, the ozone layer is beginning to heal. Climate scientist Sean Davis reflects on this environmental success story and the world we’ve avoided by our efforts to save the ozone layer, and offers lessons we can carry forward in addressing the environmental crisis of our time - global warming. • Sean was born and raised in Oklahoma, where he developed a deep appreciation of the atmosphere and extreme weather that ultimately lead him to pursue a Ph.D. in atmospheric science at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is currently a Research Scientist at the NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory, where he studies the climate impacts from human-caused changes of the chemical composition of the atmosphere. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
