Presentation by Geoff Taylor, followed by audience discussion. Presented October 26, 2024. • There are many compelling teachings in The Urantia Book that warrant a closer look. Our guest speakers set the stage with a brief presentation highlighting one of these interesting topics, followed by a discussion with the audience. The ideas and opinions presented are those of the speaker and do not necessarily represent those of Urantia Foundation or Urantia Book International School (UBIS). • In this, our first step in an infinitely long ascension career, we are learning how to relate our physical reality with our spiritual reality. We are trying to correlate our brain with our mind, and our intellectual base with morontial potential. To do this, we need to use the tools we have been given: our bodies. To use these tools wisely, we need to understand how the body functions and how we might harmonize material things with spiritual concepts. • A follow-up to last year’s Spotlight called “Exploring the Physiology of Cosmic Consciousness,” this presentation will summarize Geoff’s further exploration of some of the myriad physiological areas and specific coherence mechanisms that may be involved. • “Spirit substance (quality) is just as responsive to spirit gravity as the organized energy of physical matter (quantity) is responsive to physical gravity. Spiritual values and spirit forces are real.” 7:1:3 (82.2) • This overview of physiology will challenge our brains, expand our minds, enhance our emotional and intellectual self-mastery, and hopefully encourage us to investigate these things further. • Geoff is currently retired, relaxed, reverent, and respectful, but was an iterative experimentalist techie with a background in Aeronautical Engineering. He spent 20 years as an engineer on the Allison 250 turbo shaft engine at Standard Aero in Winnipeg, and Aviall in Dallas and in Los Angeles where he was the head of the repair and research engineering divisions. Geoff was introduced to The Urantia Book in 1984 by a PhD coworker, and it rekindled his Christian roots and reilluminated his raison d'etre. • He returned to Winnipeg, but not before he had traveled the world, been inside three Space Shuttles, and won a couple of design awards. Back in Winnipeg, he and his brother (a physiotherapist) started an innovation company called Vista Medical Ltd. Crashing his airplane in 2003 left him mobility challenged but refocused on the things that matter most in life—God and relationships. • The loss of his wife to cancer put him on a quest to cure cancer and be of service to humanity. A few more patents helped the success of that company which he sold and now winters with his mate, Susan Meyers, in Florida.
