The dance begins with a scene depicting the mischievous Lord throwing a stone at the Gopi's pot to break it and subsequently jumps to her with his big eyes to apologize. Ever enchanted by his charming face, the Gopi forgives him and offers him his favorite butter. The dancer welcomes the Lord into her home with flowers and outstretched hands, portrays him as a loving cowherd, humbles the poisonous serpent Kaliya with his narthana, defeats the asuras with ease, and dances with his beloved Radha.
