This is a rundown of every hit song present on the MuchMusic Countdown in 2015. Let's bring some Canadiana to nostalgia playlists! These have been my pet projects for a while because I'm a bit obsessed with old-school MuchMusic/can-con in general. • This is the year that Canadian artists began to dominate the pop charts worldwide, with lots of Drake, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber and Shawn Mendes. Trap and lyrical hip hop are on the rise. We see the influence of Tumblr (hipster girls!) and Vine (meme songs!) on the charts. At this point Much had stopped all original production and no longer had a daily live show or VJs, so they weren't really targeting tweens anymore. So we do get a slightly wider variety of artists here.
