Venice is located on the Gulf coast of Florida, about 19 miles South of downtown Sarasota and is referred to as “Venice Island”. • In this video we will take you on a full tour of downtown Venice, Florida, and also walk to the beautiful Venice Beach. We will share some history of Venice, Florida and some of my favorite local shops! • Downtown Venice is a fantastic place to spend a day because it offers a little something for everyone. Venice Avenue features various gift shops, ice cream shops, apparel stores, art galleries, toy stores, restaurants, bakeries, and a hotel. • Plus, if you enjoy visiting a Farmers Market you must check out the Venice Farmers Market that brings in nearly 50 vendors every Saturday. From these vendors you will find fresh local produce, seafood, artisan cheese, fresh pasta, coffee, ethnic foods, handmade jewelry, fresh flowers, wood fired pizza, and much more! You can visit the Venice farmers market every Saturday from 8 AM to 12 PM in the summer and 8 AM to 1 PM in the winter. • Near the end of the video, we will take a walk to Venice Beach Florida, which is a relaxing beach known as the “Sharks Tooth Capital of the World”. Here can enjoy finding dark, fossilized sharks’ teeth as your walk the shoreline and in the shallow surf. Another beach you can check out is called Caspersen Beach which is also in Venice, Florida.
