Phillip Sear plays a Czerny-like study by the German composer Friedrich Burgmüller (1806-74). • ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- • #4 from 12 études brillantes et mélodiques pour piano, Op. 105 (c. 1853) • ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- • The German composer (Johann) Friedrich Burgmüller (1806-74) trained in his own country but moved to France in 1832, and settled there, becoming a French citizen. He was a successful piano teacher and composer of salon pieces and studies. This piece, from Burgmüller's set of 18 characteristic Études, Op 109, strikes me as very similar in musical style to the studies in Czerny's 'Art of Finger Dexterity', Op. 740. • ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- Played by Phillip Sear • http://www.psear.co.uk (Email: [email protected] • WhatsApp: http://wa.me/441444483794 ) TikTok: / pianogems
