Planning and using a yellow engobe on some slab built ceramic vessels

Having made some small slab built ceramic pieces I am now thinking about the surface and how I will apply marks, colour, texture etc. These vessel forms have more horizontal proportions than the pieces I usual make so thinking about how the marks and shapes are applied to these is more of a challenge. I have decided to use a variety of yellow colours on the surface of these pieces. It is a similar colour to one I recently used on a larger piece that was successful and had potential for further use. • This video includes a time lapse section of me applying the engobe and slip to the surface as well as incising and impressing marks and using underglaze pencils. • At the end of the video I show how the pieces turned out before they dry ready for the first firing in the kiln. Following the firing, some oxides and glazes will be applied before a further firing. • https://www.instagram.com/craigunderh... • / craig.underhill.1840 • Want to learn more, get my Online Video- https://links.ceramic.school/craigund...
