http://thedrawingtutor.com/ • This is a short tutorial on using hatching technique to shade a hibiscus flower. Start with guidelines, sketching them very loose and light at first - you want to get your basic shapes drawn. Then add the actual line work that you see in the flower. Draw large objects first, and details last. • I use hatching technique in all of my drawings. Making quick straight, and tightly grouped lines will help you cover a large area very quickly. You can also use squiggles to shade, which is another method, but I prefer to use straight hatching lines to quickly render my sketches and drawings. • More pencil and paper tutorials will be featured on my other channel - TheDrawingTutor! • For digital artwork I work in Corel Painter, Photoshop, and use a Wacom tablet.
