The artist’s aptitude for “shock-rap” was littered throughout his early output but even then, the occasional glimmer of grace was always alluded to. • His third studio album, Cherry Bomb, was brimmed with experimentation but was also met with polarizing opinions. The abrasive horrorcore seemed at odds with the more tranquil neo-soul cuts on the record -- and time had rendered his vulgar verses somewhat outdated, forcing Tyler to consider a new course. • For an artist who frequently attempts to perfect his craft while diving deeper into his psyche, the resulting Flower Boy saw Tyler truly bloom. The culmination of two years of introspection saw the rapper mature into a capable artist, one finally comfortable in his own skin. Unlike anything we’d heard from him before, it’s the album that would change Tyler forever. • ------------------------------- • #Middle8 #FlowerBoy #TylerTheCreator • This video is sponsored by CuriosityStream • Written, voiced and edited by Frank Furtado • Additional Music by Matthew McClelland
