Ethos is also about establishing a connection with your audience, so it's important to be friendly and likable when you're trying to persuade someone. • Pathos is the use of emotion, often sympathy, to create a favorable impression on the audience. Pathos can be used to move people emotionally because they don't want to feel guilty or because they feel sorry for someone who is suffering. • Logos is the appeal to logic, reason, or rationality. It's based on logic and reasoning and is used to convince people that you are right or that something is true.
