Task-based Language Teaching is a subset of the Communicative Approach. The Communicative Approach believes that language is a system for the expression of meaning and information. So, language, at its core, is interactive. Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) refers to an approach based on the use of tasks as the core unit of planning and instruction in language teaching. • An activity or action which is carried out as the result of processing or understanding language (i.e., as a response). For example, drawing a map while listening to a tape, listening to instruction, and performing a command may be referred to as tasks. Tasks may or may not involve the production of language. A task usually requires the teacher to specify what will be regarded as successful completion of the task. The use of a variety of different kinds of tasks in language teaching is said to make language teaching more communicative . . . since it provides a purpose for a classroom activity that goes beyond the practice of language for its own sake. • (Richards, et al. 1986: 289) • • Let's find out the topic in detail. • Follow me on Instagram (You can get free material and guidance for free) • https://www.instagram.com/accounts/lo... • Other Language Teaching Methods •    • Language Teaching Methods and Approac...   • Video Chapters • 00:00 Introduction of Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) • 01:13 Formal Definition of Task-Based Language Teaching • 03:31 What is meant by the task in a non-linguistic manner? • 04:46 What is a task in the scenario of Task-Based Language Learning? • 07:43 Examples/types of pedagogical tasks in TBLT • 13:35 5 Major characteristics of a pedagogical task
