SELKIE IN THE SEAWEED - This video shows a selkie seal mermaid swimming underwater next to some seaweed. The selkie woman gentle grabs the seaweed before swimming away. This costume was made by @kaitlynbloomfield23 This is the first time I took this selkie mermaid costume for a swim underwater. It swam great and I am so, so excited to take it for more swims in the future! • PLEASE NOTE: • Selkies are a mythological creature from Celtic and Norse stories. Traditionally, selkies are depicted as shapeshifters who can change between a seal form and a human form, depending on if they are wearing their seal skin or not. This version of a selkie is mermaid-like.
