Today's Mexico travel vlog is truly special. I had the opportunity to run with a champion Tarahumara runner, Arnulfo Quimare. If you are unfamiliar with the Tarahumara they can be described as a group of indigenous people of the Americas living in the state of Chihuahua in Mexico. They are renowned for their long-distance running ability. • Originally inhabitants of much of Chihuahua, the Rarámuri retreated to the high sierras and canyons such as the Copper Canyon in the Sierra Madre Occidental on the arrival of Spanish invaders in the 16th century. The area of the Sierra Madre Occidental which they now inhabit is often called the Sierra Tarahumara because of their presence. • For more insight into how we ended up in the Barrancas del Cobre running with the Tarahumara I highly suggest you read the book Born to Run . You will learn a ton about the Tarahumara, Mexico, and staying healthy and fit. It is one of the best non-fiction books I have ever read. • Read Born to Run : • https://amzn.to/2TJU82v • Christopher McDougall's Ted Talk Are we born to run : •    • Are we born to run? | Christopher McD...   • πŸ‘ Subscribe to our channel https://goo.gl/nyyK9K πŸ›Ž • [email protected] for media inquiries, press mentions, product reviews, tour reviews, or just to say hey! • • Patreon is a platform for creators where you, the community, can sign up to contribute any amount monthly towards our efforts.
