The Austrian company Vello presented in April its newest model of electric bicycle, the Bike + Titanium. Weighing less than 10 kg, it holds the title of the lightest electric bike in the world. • The Titanium e-bike, like all other Vello models, is a folding bike, an important feature whether for transport or just to store it. Getting it ready for use takes about eight seconds, according to the manufacturer. • Its battery is integrated into the electric motor in the rear hub, which allows for a discreet shape that can easily pass for a traditional pedal-powered bicycle. Its maximum speed is 25 km/h. • All Vello bikes have motors with KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) technology that charges the battery when braking or going downhill. This means, in theory, that “the range is almost unlimited” and that you may never need to recharge your battery in an outlet again, says the manufacturer.
