Probably the most tranquil hourly theme across the series. Rivals Stale Cupcakes in terms of sleepy vibes. • For many hourly themes, the way repetition is handled can be a sort of detriment, making a theme overstay its welcome (2PM ACNH, 3PM ACNL) I don't feel like the original 1AM necessarily does this. It might be the same four-chord progression over and over, but that slow careening (and the octave shift later) just makes for a sleepy, hypnotic tune. Almost like slow, rhythmic breathing as you slowly drift off to sleep... • There are three loops of this tune here. The first stays mostly faithful to the original; the second takes a GC-esque spin, sorta based off ACGC's 9PM; the third loop features a second half where the piano and electric piano switch roles. I think I was inspired by ‪@Ifnot‬ and ‪@DcapoVGM‬'s beautiful rendition of 8PM WW/CF. The guitar and electric piano switch roles near the end there, and I thought the way they handled it was brilliant.
