A tour of Rouvy

Rouvy is a virtual cycling app similar to RGT and Zwift. It uses augmented reality to present real-world courses that you can ride through using a cycling avatar and indoor trainer. • In this video, I will give you a quick tour of Rouvy. I'm using my Apple TV but it supports multiple platforms including mobile and desktop. We'll use the IRONMAN Canada course as an example, taking in the start, moving around the course and tackling the big climb. You will want a smart trainer to get the best experience. • Rouvy also has map mode / non-augmented reality mode that allows you to upload custom courses from GPX data so that you can preview the course in advance. This does not look as good as you do not get to set the streets themselves, just a top-view map, but you do get the gradients. I have a whole video on map view here: • • Outlaw triathlon bike course on Rouvy • There are also events but I haven't spent much time on these. • Compared to Zwift, Rouvy allows you to ride real courses including many of the IRONMAN routes, La Vuelta, UK cycling events and others. And you get a more realistic road feel with the gradient, although it does jump up and down. It can be lonely, though: all of the courses are available all of the time which gives you great choice but has less of a community feel than Watopia. • From a technical perspective, it paired with all of my sensors easily and I haven't had any problems.
