If you have any dissent or extra thoughts to offer along with my analysis, please leave them in the comment section below! • Spec Ops: The Line is heavily influenced by a pre-existing classic novella titled “Heart of Darkness”, which is arguably the most analyzed piece of literature in history. I decided that what I would do is analyze Heart of Darkness and its two most popular adaptations: Apocalypse Now and, of course, Spec Ops: The Line. However, while I am analyzing the individual stories in each of the three cases, I am moreso analyzing the quote-unquote “Heart of Darkness” as a motif; as something that actually exists. In my opinion, the Heart of Darkness manifests in real life, as well as in these three forms of fiction... as a location, a thing to obtain, and a state of mind.
