Trauma bonding doesn't begin when we wake up to find ourselves in unhealthy, addictive or narcissistic relationships. It first begins with the original source: our childhood caregivers, and the rollercoaster relationships we often have with our primary attachment figures, and it is quite common in those who have CPTSD. • This video explores how trauma bonds are originally created, and how they often stem from parents with traits of Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, or other often difficult dynamics ---which make it challenging for parents to attune to us, and parents who also end up contributing to our inherent and internal maps about what relationships are supposed to look and feel like. • Parents who create the original source of trauma bonds with us in childhood, which we later act out in our adult relationships, can create real neurological addictions in us, making it hard for us to differentiate, and break free from toxic adult relationships. • I believe we must first understand where these trauma bonds originate in CPTSD childhoods and childhoods in general, so we can have deeper compassion, self understanding and power to heal our lives and relationships. • This video is part of a series related to CPTSD and what it looks and feels like in real life. • xo • For more therapy related tools, concepts and resources, please consider joining my mailing list, as I am in the process of developing more ways to help people from difficult childhoods learn to love themselves more, heal their stories, and truly thrive and live with greater peace, happiness and well-being❤️ • http://www.drkimsage.com • @drkimsage
