On Saturday, 28th September 2024, the railway hosted its annual gala, one of the busiest and most exciting events of the year. • The event featured an intensive timetable of steam and diesel trains, with frequent departures from Abergwili Junction. Locomotives in use included the GWR Pannier Tank No. 6430 and British Railways 03 class D2178, offering an impressive show of steam and diesel power. • Event highlights included: – A busy timetable of train movements throughout the day. – A footplate ride on the Pannier Tank, plus a double-header with the 08 diesel! – Trade and display stands from various railway societies. – Craft stalls. – Miniature railway running. – On-train bar, BBQ, and classic bike displays. – Café and “The Bookshed” open all day at Abergwili Junction. • It was an incredible day, and I captured it all in this video!
