Ski Warfare Stryker Soldiers Participate in Alaska Shield Exercise

Soldiers from the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division participated in the Alaska Shield emergency response exercise. Soldiers of the brigade received an emergency deployment alert as part of a state-wide exercise using their arctic expertise to provide humanitarian aid in Alaska to isolated population centers. Soldiers traveled by snow shoes and skis while transporting humanitarian assistance supplies over frozen hills and valleys. The exercise took place within Fort Wainwright's training ranges simulating the terrain soldiers may have to traverse if called to respond in such a crisis. Video by Spc.
