Have you ever wished there was a helpful video to show you how to properly shock your pool? Well, you're in luck! In this video, we'll teach you how to shock your pool, as well as discuss why you should shock your pool, and how often to do so. • Chlorine is the most important element for maintaining pool water health. Without it, contaminants and organic material would run amuck and turn your beautiful blue pool into a swampy marsh. Pool shock breaks up chloramines — chlorine and ammonia clusters — and lets the chlorine get back to sanitizing your pool. Let's briefly discuss the three types of shock and how to choose which one to use. • 💥 Calcium Hypochlorite: Also known as cal-hypo, this is a powerful type of shock that quickly destroys algae, bacteria, and other contaminants. Be aware that cal-hypo will raise the pH and chlorine levels in your pool. • 💥 Dichloro-S-Triazinetrione: This shock, also called dichlor, is a fast-acting sanitizer that will not raise pH levels. Dichlor does contain Cyanuric Acid (CYA), so be sure to test your pool's CYA level before using. • 💥 Potassium Monopersulfate: Better known as non-chlorine shock, this option is ideal for pools with a normal, to elevated chlorine level. This kind of shock frees up available chlorine, but it does not kill germs or algae. • ℹ️ Check out our blog for more information on how to use pool shock: • ⚡️How to Shock a Pool: https://leslies.site/och • #poolshock #shockingapool #poolcare #lesliespool #poolmaintenance #howto • 🛍 Featured Products: • ● Cal-hypo Shock: https://leslies.site/vzt • ● Dichlor Shock: https://leslies.site/6j7 • ● Non-Chlorine Shock: https://leslies.site/j0v • ● Test Strips: https://leslies.site/bgd • ● Test Kits: https://leslies.site/h2w • 🛒 Visit our website and shop our wide selection of pool, spa, and outdoor products: https://leslies.site/ab9fa6 • 🎓 Check out our Resource Center for informative articles on pool maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, water care, and much more: https://leslies.site/yir • 🙋🏻♂️ Stop by your local Leslie's to speak with one of our friendly pool experts: https://leslies.site/nsz • ✅ Click SUBSCRIBE so you never miss one of our helpful and informative videos! • At Leslie's, #WeKnowPools 💦 • Leslie’s is your local neighborhood pool store.
