In this 'ECG made super easy' video series, we are going to learn the application of Brugada criteria for the diagnosis of ventricular tachycardia (VT). Brugada criteria for vt vs svt and brugada criteria for vt are also in the menu! • Ventricular tachycardia is a wide QRS complex tachycardia. Most patients are very ill and need urgent interventions. VT can be a doctor's nightmare to diagnose and treat as it is a time critical emergency. • Supraventricular tachycardia bundle branch block and ventricular tachycardia are difficult to differentiate sometimes. The expertly application of Brugada criteria may help us differentiate between VT and SVT with aberrancy. • VT can be diagnosed on the electrocardiography (ECG or EKG) with fast and wide QRS complexes. Usually pre-excitation syndrome gives very fast WCT and can be difficult to differentiate from VT as well. • Brugada sign is width from beginning of R wave to the nadir of the S wave more than 100msec. • Josephson sign is a notch in the downsloping part of the S wave. • Captute beat, fusion beat,av dissociation, Brugada criteria can be useful in the diagnosis of VT. They are also applicable for differentiating VT from SVT and other WCT (wide complex tachycardia), BCT (broad complex tachycardia). • • #askdrbarai • #ECG • #EKG • #VT • #Brugada • #electrocardiography • • Website: www.drbarai.weebly.com • Twitter: @drbarai • Email: [email protected] • • ECG source: Life in the Fast Lane: https://litfl.com/ • • Check your knowledge: • ECG Quiz 1: https://forms.gle/gv5Bih529UAbPaeQ7
