Onam 2023 Kerala Celebrates Onam People Visit Temples Participate In Cultural Activities

Onam is observed across Kerala with immense enthusiasm and fervour. The much-celebrated festival began on August 20 and will wrap up on August 31 this year. The 10-day-long Onam celebrations, also referred to as Thiru-Onam or Thiruvonam, are observed all over the state as people commemorate the return of King Mahabali/Maveli. During the celebrations, people are visitng temples, and participating in various cultural activites. Thiruvananthapuram was also decorated with lights as part of the Onam celebrations. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Droupadi Mumru, Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, governor Arif Mohammed Khan, CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury and several other leaders extended their greetings on the 10-day Onam festival on Tuesday.
