One of the three villages in Val Gardena. Ortisei has a fancy La Curta that moves tourists from town center to Seceda cable station. Tourism is booming in Ortisei and all over Val Gardena. • ================================================================= • The following is my Dolomites itinerary -- • 9/7/2014 (Sunday) • Fly into Venice, Italy • Overnight in Mestre • 9/8/2014 (Monday) • AVTO bus from Mestre to Cortina d'Ampezzo (2.5hrs) • DolomitiBus #31 from Cortina d'Ampezzo to Rif Auronzo (1hr) • Hike from Rif Auronzo to Rif Locatelli (2hrs, clockwise via 105), check in • Hike Sesso di Sesto (1hr) • Overnight in Rif Locatelli • 9/9/2014 (Tuesday) • Loop-hike to Rif Pian di Cengia and back (4hrs, counter-clockwise via 101/104/107/101), plus summiting Crode Fiscaline (1hr) • Hike from Rif Locatelli to Rif Lavaredo then Rif Auronzo (1.5hrs, clockwise via 101) • DolomitiBus #31 from Rif Auronzo to Cortina d'Ampezzo then Passo Falzarego (1.5hrs) • Funivia Lagazuoi up to Rif Lagazuoi (0.5hr), check in • Overnight in Rif Lagazuoi • 9/10/2014 (Wednesday) • Loop-hike to Rif Giussani and back, circling the Tofane Group (8.5hrs, counter-clockwise via Forc. Col dei Bos) • Overnight in Rif Lagazuoi • 9/11/2014 (Thursday) • Hike Galleria del Lagazuoi down to Passo Falzarego (2hrs, some via ferrata) • Hike to Rif Averau then Rif Nuvolau (2hrs), check in • Hike to Ra Gusela and back (1hr45min, some via ferrata) • Overnight in Rif Nuvolau • 9/12/2014 (Friday) • Hike down to Cinque Torri, Rif Scoiattoli then Passo Falzarego (2hrs) • SAD bus #465 to La Villa (30min) • Hike to Rif Gardenaccia (1.5hrs, including riding ski lift at the beginning) • Hike to Ciampani then Rif Puez (3hrs), check in • Overnight in Rif Puez • 9/13/2014 (Saturday) • Hike from Rif Puez to Furc. Forces de Sieles then Rif Pieralongia (3hrs) • Hike to Seceda (1.5hrs) • Seceda Lift down to Ortisei (40min) • SAD bus #170 to Bolzano via Castelrotto (1hr15min) • Trenitalia out of Bolzano to continue my journey
