Making a longer drill bit

Every now and then you will need to drill a hole that is extra deep, or you will need to drill a hole in a space where the drill won’t fit, but you could do it if the drill bit was longer. In this video I show two methods I have used to extend the length of a jobber drill. • In the first method I show you how I make a simple extension shaft. I use this shaft to drill a hole very close to the side of machine where I can’t get a drill chuck close against. • In the second method I extend the actual jobber drill by brazing on an additional length of steel to the drill shank.
