The 1965 war between India and Pakistan was the second conflict between the two countries over the status of state of Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan's military rular General Ayub Khan, believed the Indian Army would not be able to defend itself against a quick military campaign asit had suffered a loss to China in 1962. Under operation Gibralter Pakistan sent trained infiltrators around 30,000 on 5th August 1965. plan was multidimesional. This operation was followed by operations grand slam on 1st September. Indian forces responded to Pakistani attacks and captured Haji Pir, Tithwal and Kargil heights.
