Carissima is a piece for small orchestra by the English composer Sir Edward Elgar. It was composed in December 1913. Elgar arranged this work for piano solo. It later was transcribed for violoncello by C. Warwick Evans. Carissima would make a valuable addition to cello student repertoire. It is beloved by many cello teachers and famous cellists.
