Back in the day I had a drum set and got rid of it because it was not practical for my situation. I have been wanting to get an electronic drum set but decided on something like this first to see if it would be something I use or not. I find that this is really nice to have as a portable pad. It is nice that I can play with it in any room of the house. • Here are some features of this pad: • Each pad is sensitive and has a good feel and rebound (if you put it on a hard surface). • The built in drum kits sound pretty decent. • It is fun as a toy (my toddler LOVES this) • Very durable and portable • Nice that it comes with pedals • Can be used on the computer when hooked up to MIDI • It automatically shuts down if you don't play it for a while. • Here are some things you should be aware of before purchasing this: • While this has two pedals, I feel the the hi-hat pedal is essentially useless because it does not change the sound of any of the pads. Basically, if you want to hit the hi-hat with your foot instead of a stick, you have that option. • There is no mute. If you use the MIDI, you will need to plug in headphones or just a headphone jack so that sound is not coming from both the speakers and your computer. • Like most MIDI devices, there is a bit of a delay. This depends on your computer.
