In honor of the release of Elsie de Wolfe's Paris: Frivolity Before the Storm, Charlie Scheips moderates a panel featuring Maureen Footer, Louis Bofferding, Charlotte Moss Hutton Wilkinson. • Writer, curator, and man about town Charlie Scheips hosts a panel on the life and influence of Elsie de Wolfe, the woman famously credited by The New Yorker as the inventor of Interior Design. Elsie de Wolfe's Paris draws upon previously unpublished photographs to create a portrait of the glamorous world of interwar Paris over which de Wolfe presided. We'll be joined by some of the biggest names working in interior design today, including: • -Maureen Footer, author of the monograph George Stacey and the Creation of American Chic. She speaks and writes on cultural and design history and French design and runs a design firm in New York City. • -Louis Bofferding, who serves on the Council of Advisors of the Institute of Classical • Architecture, and is a private dealer of decorative arts. • -Charlotte Moss, special projects editor at House Beautiful and winner of Elle Decor’s VISION • Award and the Timeless Design Award.
