Many people think their horse is doing a running walk when it is actually step pacing. The flat walk and running walk have 4 clear beats. The step pace is 4 beats but closer together. See if you can see the difference. Also notice no head shake with the step pace and there is a little hop in her step from the suspension. She also swings her legs closer together instead of picking them up and placing them down. I was asked by a customer to put wraps on a horse's legs so you can see better exactly which legs are moving,also notice how i bounce up and down during the step pace, but not in the running walk, if you horse does the correct foot fall for the running walk, you will not be bouncing.
