Telling b and d apart. b and d confusion / reversal video. Teacher resources. Tips for parents, teachers in general, kindergarten teachers, primary school teachers or special education teachers for teaching kids how to remember the difference between the lowercase letters, in case they do mirror writing. We use the word bed , along with a picture of a bed as a mnemonic for telling b and d apart. • We shape our fingers in such a way that the left hand shapes like small letter b and the right hand shapes like small letter d . Then we say the word bed to help students tell the difference between the lowercase letters. The sound b comes before the sound d in the word bed , meaning that left hand looks like a b whereas the right hand looks like a d .
