The Vela Pulsar which is situated in the Vela constellation is high radio, X-ray and gamma rays emitting pulsar. It was discovered in the year of 1968. It is situated nearly 960 light years away from the Earth. It was formed from a giant star when it exploded in a type II supernova, that occurred about 1200 years ago.
