Easy Peas Pulao

Peas Pulao is a simple Indian rice dish of basmati rice cooked with green peas, and flavoured with spices. • This dish pairs perfectly with many different Indian curries including Butter Chicken, and Lamb Rogan Josh and comes together in under 15 minutes. • Don't forget the secret to this dish: soak your rice for at least 30 minutes to make sure your rice doesn't break while cooking. :) • Expand the box to see the full recipe below :) • I hope you enjoy this video :) • Let's be friends on the interwebz :D • Facebook Public Page • / vijaya-selvaraju-165728422976 • Instagram • / vijayaselvaraju • • RECIPE • INGREDIENTS • 1 cup, Basmati Rice • 1 tsp, Salt • 2 Cloves • 1 stick Cinnamon • 2 Green Cardamom Pods • 1 tbsp, Canola Oil • 2 tsp, Cumin Seeds • 1 cup, Frozen Green Peas • METHOD • In a bowl add Basmati Rice. Top with cold water and gently massage the grains of rice until the water becomes cloudy. Drain, and top with more water. Repeat process until water remains clear and allow to soak for 30 minutes. • Drain Rice. • Bring a pot of water to a rapid boil. Add Salt, Cloves, Cinnamon, Cardamom, and drained Rice. Boil for 7-8 minutes, or just until the Rice has cooked through but still has a bit of bite. Drain and set aside. • In a large non-stick pan, add Oil and heat on medium-high. Add Cumin Seeds and allow to crackle for 10-15 seconds. Then add Frozen Peas, and cook for 1-2 minutes until heated through, but still vibrant green in colour. • Increase heat to high and add drained Rice. Gently fold Peas into Rice, ensuring not to break the grains. • Transfer to a serving platter.
