Many plastics differ in density, making the swim-sink separation process the most efficient solution for recycling. In the simple swim-sink process, separation is performed simply by means of gravitational force. In a centrifuge, centrifugal force now replaces gravity, which makes sorting much faster. • This separation process uses a separating liquid with a specific weight between the weights of the plastics to be separated. The heavy and denser plastic is therefore pressed against the centrifuge's bowl wall and transported away with the help of the decanter scroll. The lighter plastic floats in the liquid, much like an iceberg, and is carried to the machine outlet by the flow of liquid. • The use of our Sorticanter® ensures better grade purity and separation of mixtures that would not be separable using static separation, while also being able to separate particles smaller than 1 mm.
