I pooped my pants. It was out of my control. It wasn't my fault. So, why was I so embarrassed and ashamed? In her talk, Karli Johnson uses humor to explain why victims of power-based-personal violence are often too scared to speak out. Karli shares personal stories of when her power and control was taken away and shows how we can move forward to a world without power based violence by sharing our stories and speaking out. • As a nationwide speaker, educator and storyteller on power-based-personal violence Karli Johnson not only knows her stuff , she's lived it. As a survivor of dating violence, sexual violence, bullying and trauma, Karli's lived experiences resonate with children, teens and adults about the country. With a focus on children and young adults, Karli uses humor, storytelling and audience participation to engage crowds with these challenging topics of violence prevention education. • • This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
