Sometimes it won't completely flush and this can be because the flapper is not getting enough lift to drain the tank. Be sure to check that the chain is attached to the flush lever and has enough give and pull. Check the chain for slack. If the tank is not getting enough water you may need to adjust the fill valve also known as the flapper. This is important because too much slack in the chain can cause the flapper to not lift properly and also it can cause the chain to get tangles up which makes the flush not work correctly. If the chain is too tight then you may have a situation where the flapper never seats all the way flat and water seeps past the flapper. • So you want this chain to hang loosely but set it where working the flush lever or button causes the flapper to start lifting up and off the seat within the first 15% of the stroke range on the lever. It should be fully lifted and floating well before the lever travels to the stroke limit. This can be within about the last 25% of the full stroke range.
