This ode to the goddess Nikkal was composed in cuneiform by the ancient Hurrians around 14th century BC(!) • The clay tablets containing the tune were excavated in the 1950’s from the ruins if the city of Ugarit in Syria. • Along with the nearly completed musical notations, they also include specific instructions on how to play the song on a nine string lyre. • I added some drone accompaniment to the original melody. • #luthieros
