Flipper Variation No 3 The Off Spinning Flipper

2022 Update: Of all the flippers featured here, the 2 that I've continued to use and increasingly so in the last 2-3 years have been the bog standard back-spinner but with either a scrambled seam or cross seam. In the last year because of the confidence gained through bowling the back-spinning version I've been trying the off-spinning variation too with some interesting results. This year though is going to be the break through year with this delivery as I've been bowling it in the nets mixed with my stock leg-break and it's got me the wickets of good batters. I've generally used it as change up and put more pace on it, but it works far better when bowled a bit faster than the leg-break. Bowled just outside the off-stump line in among my turning leggies , it looks like a non-threatening leg-break, the batsmen generally step back to play it through point only to find that it's an off-breaking ball and they're either bowled or caught LBW. Comments from the batters have generally been 'I can't pick that one'. • • For more details see http://spinbowling-flipper.blogspot.com/
