Today were taking a look at Impressionism, it's impact on the development of modern art and some of the reasons behind its surge in popularity over the 20th century. Despite being widely loved today Impressionism was critically panned in its own time. In this video were going to explore some of the reasons why this was the case and take a look at some of the key works by artists involved in the movement.
