Indigofera tinctoria, also called true indigo, is a species of plant from the bean family that was one of the original sources of indigo dye.Today most dye is synthetic, but natural dye from I. tinctoria is still available across the globe.In this modern day, Hair dye is most important requirement but the products available in market are mostly synthetic which are poisonous for environment and mankind. To overcome this, a natural substitute which Nature had gifted us is Henna(Maruthani in Tamil) along with Indigo (Avuri / Neela kozhinji) leaves. Applying henna will convert white hair to brown colour and subsequent application of Indigo (3 to 4 times) will convert brown hair to black hair. Point to remember in using this natural hair dye is mainly you to avoid using chemical shampoo for hair wash.
