The Durabook S14i truly pushes the limits of semi-rugged mobile computing. Bob unboxes this unit in this video and captures his first impressions. The S14i is Durabooks semi-rugged unit. Bob's very first impression of this unit is that it feels rugged, straight out of the box. Compared to the line of Panasonic semi-rugged units, this Durabook feels a lot more rugged. One great thing about this unit is the location of the stylus inside the unit. It has its own storage slot. This was missing on the last Durabook laptop that Bob reviewed. The hinges on the S14i are firm and solid. The keyboard is a backlit chicklet keyboard with nice, bouncy keys. The mousepad on this unit is built into the palm rest and the buttons appear to be made out of hard plastic. This Durabook also comes with a webcam and that webcam comes with a door to help keep your privacy. The port cover doors are nice and sturdy and seal up all the ports very well. This unit comes with a UDB port, an HDMI port, and a hard drive, and it has a side port for a CD-ROM optical drive. The particular unit in the video does not have this but it is an option. Overall, Bob is impressed with this unit so far. Moving on to the accessories that came with this unit which include, an AC adapter that uses a Mickey Mouse plug.
