Imagine you’ve been involved in an accident. You’re bleeding and are rushed to the hospital. • Thankfully you’re given a blood transfusion, to replace your lost blood. • But you can’t just have blood from any old donor... In fact, when Doctors first attempted blood transfusions in the 17th century they were unsuccessful and patients died. • How do medical teams now know what blood to give to which patient? • Different people have different blood types or groups. You can be either: O, B, A or AB. • If you’re given a blood transfusion, you must have blood which is compatible with your blood type. • In this video, you will learn a bit more about Blood Groups. • CREDITS • Animation Design: Reshenda Wakefield • Narration: Dale Bennett • Script: Thea Davies Bethan Parry • VISIT US • Website: www.fuseschool.org • Twitter: / fuseschool • Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/fuseschool/... • Facebook: / fuseschool • This Open Educational Resource is free of charge, under a Creative Commons License: Attribution-NonCommercial CC BY-NC.
