Discover the RHS Chelsea Plant of the Year and two runners-up for 2024: Prunus ‘Starlight’, Cosmos atrosanguineus CHERRY CHOCOLATE and Agave ‘Praying Hands’. • The RHS Plant of the Year award celebrates new plants launched at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and helps to bring these wonderful introductions to UK gardeners. Information and images of plants submitted by exhibitors are considered by RHS Garden Curators and over 180 experts from RHS Plant Committees and Trials Forums, taking into account the breeding journey, innovative or improved characteristics and likely public appeal. • Prunus ‘Starlight’®, a new winter and spring ornamental flowering cherry, has exceptionally attractive and unusual star-shaped pure white flowers. Its profuse flowering habit in late March often extends well into April, while there can also be a smattering of flowers over winter. • C. CHERRY CHOCOLATE brings a unique colour breakthrough whilst improving hardiness (RHS H4) in a garden favourite. Vibrant cherry-coloured flowers, with a delicious chocolate scent and contrasting yellow pollen, are the largest of any Cosmos atrosanguineus. Loved by pollinators, blooms non-stop from end May to the first frost. • Agave ‘Praying Hands’ brings a different look to the Mangave family, taking on an upright elegant teardrop shape. Its colourful and striking foliage makes for a perfect pot specimen or mixed with other succulents. Hardy to -5C and extremely sun and drought tolerant. • Read more: https://www.rhs.org.uk/shows-events/r...
