At the recent Wake Up to UND event, UND President Andy Armacost welcomed new administrators Shelbie Witte, dean of the College of Education Human Development, to the stage to talk about the future of education and CEHD. • While onstage with Armacost, Witte picked three different discussion topics hidden behind doors, in the format of the game show “Let’s Make a Deal.” The topics included the college’s goals, teacher shortages and digital literacy — the latter of which is of paramount importance, given the rise of disinformation and the ease at which it is transmitted by artificial intelligence, Witte said. • --- • Founded in 1883, six years before the state itself was established, the University of North Dakota is a busy 521-acre campus, the state’s largest.
