3e etage (Soloists of the Paris Opera Ballet) performed at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in 2013. • When 3e étage made its sold-out U.S. debut at Jacob's Pillow Dance in 2011, audiences fell in love with the company's sharp wit, quirky characters, and jaw-dropping dancing. These dancers, soloists, and étoiles of the legendary Paris Opera Ballet turn classical ballet on its head with inventive and clever style. They premiered Le Pillow Thirteen, commissioned by and created especially for Jacob's Pillow by choreographer/director Samuel Murez, a suite of new ballets and beloved favorites such as me2, inspired by the bilingual poem Me Too by Raymond Federman; Quatre, in which four men vie for virtuosic dominance; and Processes of Intricacy, an intimate duet about the creative process. • Jacob's Pillow Dance is a National Historic Landmark, home to America's longest-running dance festival, and recipient of the prestigious National Medal of Arts.
