Morrissey was in good spirits and gave a good show, but he was not very chatty. The band was in great form, as usual. Unfortunately the crowd was rather quiet, it woke up mostly for Irish Blood, English Heart , First Of The Gang To Die and songs from the Smiths repertoire. A few changes were noticed in the set-up. After a few dates without a backdrop, a new one featuring Italian actor Walter Chiari was introduced (view in situ). Also, instead of the usual instrumental piano version of You'll Never Walk Alone , Morrissey walked on stage to the sound of thunder. • For the first time in a while Morrissey made changes to the setlist. I Keep Mine Hidden was replaced with All You Need Is Me while the crowd favourite Seasick Yet Still Docked was replaced with another long and slow moving number, Life Is A Pigsty . The latter change may have been prompted by events that occurred at the previous show. However it appears this was not a good move as the song was received with a good dose of indifference by a portion of the crowd. • As Morrissey walked on stage he greeted the crowd with a shout of Are you ready to bite? Are you ready to bite? . In Billy Budd he punctuated the line things have been bad by adding Really? Yes! He reverted to the original line now it's 12 years on instead of the tour's usual live change now it's 30 years on . Further into the song he sang Thank Christ! they turned me down . He bridged Let Me Kiss You to Ask by saying And if you want to kiss me.. then just ASK! He introduced The World Is Full Of Crashing Bores by giving the song's name after its performance. In Why Don't You Find Out For Yourself he followed the line Then you'll see the price very closely with the question what price? Besides the usual lyric changes in Life Is A Pigsty , he also sang once again I turn to you... who else?
