Visit http://carbongames.com for more information on our Dev blog. • Here you see a 30 second pre-game period where you have 1 second build times on everything. This is because in real games, you won't (usually) have units pre-deployed for you like you do in single player. The main reason we do this in single player is because it's much faster to test an in-progress game. • For multiplayer though, we don't know what units the player chose to bring into the game and how they should be positioned. So we give you a bunch of money and instant build times to do what you like, though you can't go very far away from your Fortress during this time.
