Have you ever come across a complicated etch-a-sketch piece and you find yourself wondering: how the heck did someone do that? In this ‘how to’ video I’ll be taking you through my personal process on how I draw a portrait on an etch-a-sketch, hopefully answering some of your questions in the process! • At 1:10, I start to talk about how long I’ve been making these portraits while I show a quick Montage of all of the portraits I’ve done. (Good and bad 😬) • At 1:16, I talk about what inspired me to start making these portraits again! (Fan art is so valid and such an inspirational tool!!) • At 1:38, I talk a little about my second to most recent portrait of Robin Lord Taylor. (Any Gotham Fans out there?) • At 2:35, I talk about the way etch-a-sketches work. The little gizmos inside and how those etchings are made. • At 3:13, I talk about how to properly erase an etch-a-sketch. (It’s easy, but I always did it wrong 😭😂) • At 4:40, I talk about my first portrait and the mistakes I made. That leads into me talking about how I’ve learned from those mistakes and what I do now!
